Shirene H. Gentry, M.A. - Hope Unveiled Life Coaching

Testimony & Mission Statement Unveiled

I began a personal journey of reflection and spiritual growth after the death of my parents in 2001. Although my faith had always been a vital part of my life, it became the center of my life during this time of renewal. The passage of Scripture that God constantly placed before me was 2 Corinthians 3:16:
"But when anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away"
This verse is the cornerstone on which I named my coaching practice. There are metaphorical "veils" that cover our hearts and minds that prevent us from "seeing" life or our circumstances clearly. My perceptions of life were not accurate, thus many "veils" smothered my inability to live with inner peace and contentment. God had much unveiling to do! Some of my "veils" included poor coping skills, inaccurate and negative thoughts, and internalized emotions. It was during this time that my faith brought me to a spiritual crossroad. I needed to know that God was intimately involved in the details of my life. And, true to His Word, His message did not return void (Isaiah 55:11).

God subsequently called me to further my education by obtaining a Master’s in Professional Counseling. Based on my personal strengths and passions, I decided to take the specialized direction of coaching to encourage healthy women to unveil any barrier that stifles physical, emotional, social, and spiritual growth. This approach is recognized as the "biopsychosociospiritual" model, a tenet deeply rooted in Scripture (Deuteronomy 6:5, Luke 10:27, Matthew 22:37, and Mark 12:30), which addresses the totality of how God created each of us.

Coaching focuses on a person’s strengths as it unveils hope and solutions.

I believe that all of life’s experiences – positive and negative – can be used for a greater good to grow you into the woman that God has planned from before the foundation of the world (Romans 8:28, Ephesians 2:10).

God is ready to unveil the woman you were meant to be. Are you ready to take the first step? He’s waiting.
